Teaching Philosophy
Francesca’s teaching philosophy puts the student first. Although building a strong technique is imperative for the violin, it is important the student remains engaged and interested throughout the process. While primarily classically trained, she has experience with other genres such as new/contemporary music, pop, and jazz, and builds her curriculum to the individual interests of each student. She believes in performing music by composers from underrepresented and marginalized groups, as well as teaching it in her curriculum. She thinks putting all art in its historical and cultural context is very important, and therefore incorporates music history into lessons. She also builds a strong basis of music and theory and ear training for her students, as she believes being a well- rounded musician is important.
